TAILORBIRD 4/5 - Common Tailorbird

Common Tailorbird

If you digiscope forget about this bird It will frustrate you with its hoppping about and sudden change in position. Even for for my slow focussing Sigma 100-400mm its tiring though they can be as close as 10ft from you. Just as you point your camera they will fly a bit further in front of you.

Encountered almost anywhere from home garden to hill forest low vegetation. Most time in a pair

  1. I think I saw this but it was hopping around so much. I recognise a longish tail and some dark streaks (?) around neck area. Hard to tell but it definitely has while underparts. Beak was short and slightly pinkish (?) as i saw it from the bottom up, it was on a tall tree wth lots of leaves. I hear it every morning at the same time, a repetitive very loud cirp, chirp but this was the first time I managed to see it
