WOODPECKER 6/24 - Maroon Woodpecker

Maroon Woodpecker

Another woodie for my collection. Now this Maroon WP is quite an elusive and difficult one to shot. It is a bird of the lowland upto to submontane virgin jungle 1500m high. Usually keep to the understorey of trees Size about 22cm with a ivory yellow beak exclusive to it besides the Bay WP which is a montane bird

Got it tagging behind a bird wave of noisy chestnut capped laughingthrushes. Notice that it like to be amongst the bigger birds. A pair of Black laughingthrush was seen last following behind.
