WADER 46/60 - Red Wattled Lapwing

 Red-wattled Lapwing

My trip to Port Dickson got me an unexpected catch of a colony of Red-wattled Lapwings of more than a dozen birds.

Size about a foot with yellowish tall legs. Never allow me to get close to 150ft of them. Gives out this distressing alarming call Kuek-kuek whenever danger approaches. One of them will stay put as a distraction whilst the others lift off to safer ground. This happen on several occasion. You tell me........

I am surprise its a resident and not a migrant or passage visitor.
