Not being birding for awhile so last weekend I went to my nearest hunt in Kemensah to try out my luck. Hoping for the Ruddy K to turn up but zilt - no luck. Saw a red & black broadbill diligently setting up its nesting. Its other half was not seen though.

In the month of March the migration of raptors is in full swing and the hot day creating strong thermal which helps the big birds to elevate themselves to glide home to northern hemisphere .

The blue-tailed bee-eaters are still hanging around in Kemensah

This swiftlet I cannot identify silhouetted by the shadow of the strong sun.

The Strip-throated and Black headed bulbuls are ever obliging for a shot .
The surprise catch for the day is the Brown Hawk Owl which was seen roosting on a durian tree in the late morning.
