Finally after many outing to KSNP I got the gorgeous female. It has a
whitish patch to its face which is exclusive of the many blue flycatchers of
Peninsula Malaysia. On the otehr hand the male looks no difference to the Hill
Blue; Tickell's or the Malaysian Blue except for the density of colors and
size.
I was with the family to Matang Forest reserve at Larut/Taiping. Suppose to go and see the Asian Openbill in Permatang Pauh Seberang Prai but was running late in the sunny hot day and with the family tagging along............you know lah can be a bit naggy so cut short the trip to Matang. This was my second trip there. I was rewarded with many good sightings which I will be posting soon................

These are the best pictures of this Mangrove
Blue Flycatcher I got at Kuala Selangor Nature Park after the red alert from JT
. Picture with no head sori. Desperate to post lifer da. The Male was observed
to be responsible to feed the fledgling for the whole morning unlike the Rufous
Chested Flycatcher which the Female have the role.
It was hide and seek game. The baby will fly down and into the thick undergrowth from the track. When Daddy come by, it will fly out for its feeding but not in the open though. The Mum was missing in action and a probable another brood I hope so.
